Mastering Knowledge Bases
A Knowledge Base is your AI's brain. It's where you store all the information your agent needs to answer customer questions accurately. Without a Knowledge Base, your agent is just a friendly chatterbox; with one, it becomes an expert on your business.
Step 1: Navigate to Knowledge Base
- Log in to Watsy.
- Click on Knowledge Base in the left sidebar menu.
- Here you can manage all your data sources.
Step 2: Create a New Base
- Click the New Knowledge Base button.
- Give it a name (e.g., "Product Manuals" or "General FAQs").
- This creates a container for your documents.
Step 3: Add Data Sources
There are three ways to teach your AI:
1. Upload Files
- Perfect for user manuals, price lists, and PDF catalogs.
- Click Upload File and select a PDF, CSV, or TXT file from your computer.
- Watsy will automatically scan and index the text.
2. Add Text
- Great for quick notes or specific policies not in a file.
- Click Add Text, give it a title, and paste the content directly.
3. Website Scraping
- The easiest way to import your existing website content.
- Click Add URL, paste your website link (e.g.,
https://example.com/faq), and click Train. - Watsy will visit the page and learn everything written there.
Step 4: Check Status
After adding a source, look at the Status column.
- Pending: Watsy is reading the content.
- Ready: The AI has learned the information and is ready to use it.
Step 5: Link to an Agent
Don't forget this final step!
- Go to AI Agents.
- Edit your agent.
- Select your new Knowledge Base from the dropdown menu.
- Save.
Conclusion
Your agent is now smarter! It will use the information you provided to give accurate, fact-based answers to your customers.
